Goodreads Summary

Can summer be truly summer without Cousins Beach? It used to be that Belly counted the days until summer, until she was back at Cousins Beach with Conrad and Jeremiah. But not this year. Not after Susannah got sick again and Conrad stopped caring. Everything that was right and good has fallen apart, leaving Belly wishing summer would never come. But when Jeremiah calls saying Conrad has disappeared, Belly knows what she must do to make things right again. And it can only happen back at the beach house, the three of them together, the way things used to be. If this summer really and truly is the last summer, it should end the way it started--at Cousins Beach.

My Thoughts

*Sigh*

This has got to be the realest book that I have read in much too long, it just is. Everything holds such tender complexity, brilliant in a way I completely adore. Characters are near perfect in this book, setting is incredible and the plot? Don't get me started. I might be a little biased when I say reading It's Not Summer Without You was one of my better decisions this week/month/year and anyone looking for a great book should pick up a copy. This sequel improves on the last book in a pretty important way, the characters mature and we see the true struggle between both of Beck's boys, Belly doesn't have it easy when it comes to these two.

Conrad and Jeremiah... These are the names of boys special enough to remember, I know that I will. Before charging on to the third book, I cast my verdict:

Rating: 5 genies on everything.
